While it's known that refined grains have added nutrients, I don't advise eating them because they are reproduced in labs; not to mention, the amount of whole grain in any given product with 'whole grain' written on the label is voluntary as long as there is some, they can put that declaration on the package.. On the other hand, by intentionally combining our foods, we improve the function of the body by effectively metabolizing nutrients. Biotin, folate, & pantothenic acid actually do just that.
Another fact is in order for a product to make health claims, at least 51% of the product has to be WHOLE grain; however, with several grains being GMO, avoiding packaged products is to your advantage.
The bottom line is I completely understand food sensitivities; however, I disagree with eliminating the good stuff without understanding the long term effects, especially when it comes to grains. There are handful of people / organizations suggesting the removal of grains from our diet, using prehistoric man as an example. While this is a reasonable argument, I also see the progression of life on Earth AND believe that we do not possess the higher understanding behind the development of intelligence to even consider agriculture?! We were given this knowledge for a reason. The need to control anything is out of fear; hence, man made foods, etc For as intelligent as we are, we've lost the wisdom to evolve & take care of ourselves.... in order to improve our health we need to consider eliminating the limitations & expanding our ability to allow God & Mother Nature to take care of us ...
