In my last post, I challenged our decision on where we invest our money when it comes to addressing dis-ease and illness. While donating to a cause is an act of generosity, it is a deed that is being preyed upon with great voracity.
Over 1800 dis-eases and illnesses are linked to genetic defects. Any variation / mutation in the human genome limits the body's ability to properly use certain nutrients in the food consumed, leading to a decline in health. In other words, any dis-ease is a collection of symptoms pointing to genetic defects and why there will never be a cure; therefore, redirecting our monetary investments into the research of medications and their effects on the symptoms. The answer to any dis-ease lies in the genes, and the only solution is to modify gene expression for the effective use of nutrition.
And then we have the passing of Robin Williams and his fairly new diagnosis. Depression, addiction and even suicide have been linked to different gene mutations. For as awful as this is, Robin's body, like so many other's, was struggling with chemical imbalances due to the body's inability to produce the right ones. His use of drugs was a rather reasonable attempt to normalize his mental / emotional state. Please note, I am not condoning the use of street or prescription drugs; I am however as a seasoned professional, stating the obvious, addiction is a symptom of a chemical imbalance i.e. dopamine. Cocaine is a dopamine reuptake inhibitor as are several antidepressants. Dopamine also helps control muscle movement. In Parkinson's, the brain cells that produce dopamine die off, The typical treatment increases dopamine levels in the brain. Research for a cure in this area continues to come up empty; yet, there are several genes related to the production of dopamine, including the vitamin D receptor, which means a variation in anyone of these areas predisposes an individual to any number of health issues as dopamine is a very important neurotransmitter. However, the collection plate continues to be passed and for what?
Earlier this evening, I read a report asserting Robin Williams' death was related to the Parkinson's medications he was taking. I find no surprise in this statement since we know that certain types of genetic mutations actually cause adverse reactions. Not to mention he was already living with a chemical imbalance or two; therefore, blindly adding fuel to the fire lead him to pay the ultimate price. Sadly enough, Robin is not the only one.
Because I believe in wisely investing in our health, I feel compelled to question the integrity of these foundations. Yes, they were created with the best of intentions; however, to say we do not know what causes a dis-ease, is not entirely true. While we may not know the precise trigger in an individual, we do know 'the wiring' that predisposes a body to dis-ease and decline. We also know how to bridge those gaps! Where do you think medications come from? Medications do not cure our conditions because the body requires the nutrition. Pharmaceuticals / synthetic botanical replications deplete the body even further, leading to more and more symptoms. They know this; so the challenge really becomes where to invest your money.
If you're still puzzled, consider the attached article as it expands on what I say here. After reflecting on the events of this last week, I decided to share my thoughts and the information compiled by others on the severity of this problem.
The reason for depression, addiction, Parkinson's, Autism, and more lie within. The solutions grow around us. I say it's time to put the research on ice and put our money into the testing and solutions that promise results not more symptoms.
