ATP is produced by the mitochondria using CoQ10. In a world devoid of genetic mutations, the body produces all the CoQ10 it needs.. L-carnitine is marketed as a 'fat burning' chemical used to transport fatty acids into the mitochondria matrix for mitochondrial health & the generation of metabolic energy. Again, in an ideal world, carnitine is produced in the liver & kidneys while stored throughout the body. Carnitine is also found in a variety of foods; especially in meat & dairy. The interesting fact is carnitine, & CoQ10 are recommended supplements for chronic fatigue, building muscle / losing fat & EVEN cardiovascular health. Yet, we're told to limit our meat & dairy consumption (for health purposes). In the presence of genetic 'defects', the production of these chemicals is reduced. Over time, we see a decline in energy,& overall health & sometimes an increase with weight issues. Why / How? The body must metabolize protein, fats, & carbohydrates on a cellular level. When we have variations in the genome, this doesn't happen as effectively. While taking supplements is a possible short term solution, using them over a long period of time signals to the body to 'not worry about it', eventually turning that mechanism off as it does for other reasons. Doesn't sound like a problem as long as you feel good now, right? Chances are, this 'feeling' isn't going to last because as one circuit shuts off, the body works to maintain balance; however, not having the proper chemical reactions to do so, inappropriate chemicals get produced, creating a need for something else .. maybe another supplement or quite possible a med. This does not have to be anyone's future because, depending on the genome, because a bio-individual essential oil blend bridges that gap.
